Single Step’s mission is to support, motivate and empower LGBTI (“Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex”) youth, their families, friends and allies in Bulgaria through the process of recognizing, coming out and affirming their sexual orientation and gender identity.
Single Step provides accessible, affordable, supportive, and non-judgmental mental health and social services for LGBTI emerging adults in Bulgaria:
1) A free, anonymous online chat staffed by trained volunteers, offering emotional support and crisis intervention;
2) Individual psychological consultations and support groups for LGBTI youth, their parents, friends and allies;
3) A network of trained psychologists in 10 cities around the country;
4) A career program offering career advice and educational opportunities to emerging LGBTI youth;
5) A support program for transgender and non-binary individuals, including hormone therapy information, surgical options, and legal advice (partnering with a local LGBTI organization);
6) A health programme offering consultations and resources on sexual health, HIV and STI prevention;
7) The Steps, a vibrant community center and social enterprise that offers a safe and inclusive space for LGBTI individuals to socialize, network, and participate in cultural, entertainment and other community events.

Foundation for Access to Rights (FAR)

The Foundation for Access to Rights – FAR is a Bulgarian non-governmental organization in the public interest, founded by attorney-at-law Valeria Ilareva in 2013. FAR laywers provide free legal aid to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in five regions in Bulgaria: Dobrich, Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv and Sofia. Apart from the field offices, FAR provides online information and legal consultations via its platform www.refugeelight.bg. After more than 10 years of practical experience in providing legal aid to foreigners in Bulgaria, in 2023 the Foundation for Аccess to Рights – FAR created the job-matching migrantlife.bg platform as a response to the demand of employers to find workers among the migrant communities in Bulgaria, as well as the need of foreigners to be included in society and to be economically independent. FAR is a licensed labor mediator under № 3570 from 01.08.2023 under the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Generation for Change CY (GFC)

Generation for Change CY (GFC) is a migrant-led grassroots non-profit organization comprised of individuals from diverse backgrounds, united in their mission to foster a diverse and inclusive society where everyone has equitable access to opportunities in Cyprus. GFC is dedicated to driving positive social change by supporting, empowering, and advocating for vulnerable and marginalized communities, including but not limited to individuals of low socioeconomic status, refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and anyone facing discrimination.
GFC provides material assistance to disadvantaged individuals and families and implements projects to integrate and empower these groups. These initiatives include language learning, vocational education and training, psychosocial and well-being support, and sports programs for both adults and children. Additionally, GFC organizes advocacy campaigns, social initiatives, and cultural projects to raise awareness of social issues and promote intercultural exchange.

LHIVE Diritti e Prevenzione

LHIVE Diritti e prevenzione, formerly the Italian League for the Fight against AIDS (LILA) – Catania, was established on 27th of May 1991, on the initaitive of some healthcare professionals. LHIVE Diritti e prevenzione promotes and defends the right to health, organizes campaigns to reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections, works to affirm principles and relationships of solidarity, fight against all forms of violation of human, civil and citizenship rights of people living with HIV infection (PLWHA) and all vulnerable groups (young people, women, sex workers, drug abusers, inmates, migrants) also by building human and social integration services.
Specific aims of LHIVE are to:
- defend the rights of PLWHA and vulernable and marginalised people
- bring out their needs and make them visible, try to provide the first aid and stimulate institutions to take charge of them
- develop and manage pilot experiences to defend the rights of PLWHA and vulnerable people
- plan and manage pilot experiences for the prevention of sexually transmitted infections among vulnerable people and in the general population
- plan and manage pilot experiences to improve adherence to therapist of PLWHA
- reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections
- promote physical and mental health in fragile groups
Within the Association there are the following work groups:
- Group of HIV, sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections
- Group on development of projects and training courses
- “Group Africa” to coordinate support activities for migrants living in Sicily and activities to fight AIDS in Zimbabwe
- “Gruppo Antartide” to address issues relating to drug use and drug abuse
Voluntary services carried out with own funds:
- Reception service: on-site meetings with LHIVE operators
- Telephone help line: consultancy and territorial observation activities
- Medical-psychological counseling: individual, couple or family interviews at the headquarters
- Self-help groups for PLWHA
- Salivary test for the diagnosis of HIV infection and Hepatitis C
- Legal advices
- Social Secretariat to provide assistance aimed at obtaining disability pension
- Information/training activities, addressed to young people, teachers, students, nurses, psychologists, social workers, physicians, educators, migrants, sex workers, drug users, inmates
- Internal training (members, volunteers, LHIVE operators)
Activities carried out and/or supported in Zimbabwe with own funds:
- Progetto “Susy Costanzo” – Diamo vite all’Africa. The project aims to raise funds to support the activities of Luisa Guidotti hospital based in Mutoko, Zimbabwe, in particular to provide free services to destitute people living in villages. The project also provides for the periodic dispatch of health personnel. The project started in 2004 and is still on going.

The Working Group on HIV Treatments (gTt-VIH) is a non-profit association, legally established in Barcelona in February 1997. In June 2002, gTt-VIH was officially declared a Public Utility Entity and, in December 2005, it was registered as a Non-Governmental Development Organization in International Cooperation. Since April 2018, gTt-VIH has a delegation in the city of Madrid with which it contributes to the response to HIV and STIs in the Community of Madrid.

Stop was founded in 1986 as a grassroots community association (under the name Gais per la Salut), with the aim of responding to the devastating impact of HIV on the homosexual community, before the administrations themselves did so.
We work for sexual health from and for the lesbian, gay, transsexual and bisexual (LGBT+) community and trans men and women who engage in sex work.
We train lesbian, gay, bisexual, heterosexual and transgender volunteers and workers.
We are committed to improving sexual health care and creating conditions, on a universal scale, that enable the expression of one’s sexuality without discrimination. We work for the elimination of inequalities and for the recognition and protection of the right to experience sexual orientation and gender identity of people and their diversity, based on development cooperation (for example with information, training and empowerment projects of the LGTB+ community in Latin America), humanitarian action, education and social mobilization.
Blue Door Education

Blue Door Education (VO/2165) is a voluntary organisation (registered NGO) based in Valletta, Malta. Our team of dedicated and passionate volunteers provides free literacy, language and lifeskill classes, both in person and online, for adult refugees and asylum seekers, and adult migrants with a social worker referral. Education enables upward social mobility, and each additional skill can mean higher income, leading to better access to nutritious food, sanitation, healthcare and accommodation. The hands-on linguistic first aid and practical skills courses we provide help refugees and asylum seekers rebuild their lives in their new host country.

Objectives:
