Oscar Bola\u00f1os Melian ha sido voluntario durante los \u00faltimos 3 a\u00f1os en Mosaico del Arca de Noaks<\/a>de la Asociaci\u00f3n Mi-Health contra el VIH organizaciones asociadas<\/a> en Suecia, adonde emigr\u00f3 hace casi 5 a\u00f1os. Oscar forma parte del Comit\u00e9 Directivo de la Asociaci\u00f3n, es defensor del VIH y amante del arte. Tambi\u00e9n ha compartido con nosotros con franqueza sus experiencias vitales, incluida la discriminaci\u00f3n que tristemente sigue sufriendo como gay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d3scar, de 56 a\u00f1os, naci\u00f3 en Espa\u00f1a, en la peque\u00f1a Gran Canaria. Recuerda una infancia feliz, llena de energ\u00eda y un enorme amor por el baile que m\u00e1s tarde form\u00f3 parte de su vida art\u00edstica como drag queen. Tambi\u00e9n recuerda los acontecimientos clave que marcaron su vida hasta hoy y las lecciones que aprendi\u00f3 de ellos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde muy joven, el aprendizaje de idiomas desempe\u00f1\u00f3 un papel importante en su vida, ya que describe que hablar diferentes lenguas \"le da libertad\", una libertad que sinti\u00f3 amenazada cuando contrajo el VIH hace casi 20 a\u00f1os. Para \u00e9l, ese momento cambi\u00f3 su vida y dict\u00f3 los pasos que dar\u00eda en el futuro. Le llev\u00f3 a concienciar sobre el virus, especialmente dentro de la comunidad gay, y su relaci\u00f3n con las drogas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aunque Oscar se muestra abierto sobre su condici\u00f3n hoy en d\u00eda, recuerda un periodo en el que tuvo que ocultarla debido a la homofobia a la que se enfrentaba en anteriores lugares de trabajo. Recientemente, con el brote de viruela del mono<\/a>Oscar se vio a s\u00ed mismo y a su comunidad, una vez m\u00e1s, asociados y discriminados en relaci\u00f3n con un virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\u00a1La viruela del mono no es una enfermedad gay!\",<\/em> dice \u00d3scar despu\u00e9s de haberla contra\u00eddo y soportado los comentarios discriminatorios que ahora conlleva el virus. Para \u00e9l, una orientaci\u00f3n sexual diferente no es la raz\u00f3n para contraer una enfermedad o un virus, y hacer campa\u00f1a para acabar con el estigma puede salvarnos a todos de la pesadilla que sufri\u00f3 la gente, arraigada en un estigma profundo y duradero que perdura hasta hoy con la irrupci\u00f3n del VIH\/SIDA all\u00e1 por los a\u00f1os 80. Estas enfermedades se propagaron juntas en un contexto social de miedo, verg\u00fcenza y prejuicios.<\/p>\n\n\n

Oscar comparti\u00f3 que el consumo de drogas y las relaciones sexuales sin protecci\u00f3n con m\u00faltiples parejas forman parte de la realidad de algunos j\u00f3venes de su ciudad natal que, lamentablemente, no son conscientes de los posibles riesgos de ese estilo de vida. Por eso, para \u00e9l, concienciar y facilitar el acceso a la informaci\u00f3n sobre el VIH y otras infecciones de transmisi\u00f3n sexual es fundamental si queremos erradicar la epidemia para 2030<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los especialistas confirman que dar acceso a informaci\u00f3n fundamental y relevante sobre salud sexual reduce los riesgos de infecci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n reduce la estigmatizaci\u00f3n, un factor que no s\u00f3lo impide que los seropositivos hablen abiertamente de su estado serol\u00f3gico, sino tambi\u00e9n que busquen ayuda y sigan un tratamiento eficaz tras el diagn\u00f3stico positivo. Desde los a\u00f1os 80 se han producido cambios transformadores en el tratamiento y la prevenci\u00f3n del VIH, que ya no deber\u00eda ser una sentencia de muerte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d3scar, amante de los viajes y de los idiomas (\u00a1actualmente habla 6 idiomas principales!), comparte que a pesar de los obst\u00e1culos a los que pueda enfrentarse, sigue siendo un hombre lleno de sue\u00f1os con ganas de seguir adelante. Volver a su isla natal en Gran Canaria y establecerse all\u00ed con un negocio gastron\u00f3mico y art\u00edstico forma parte de su visi\u00f3n de futuro. Mientras tanto, es feliz con su trabajo de abogado y su vida de casado con (nombre de la pareja), pintora y amante del arte como \u00e9l. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
